With the launch of the new TOTM Lindworm, UFL introduced a highly requested UI improvement: you can now see skin boosts directly in-game! We also saw the start of a potential migration from stars to actual numbers. It’s almost as if we’ve been involved in this update (we haven’t!) 😉
But the most eye-catching one is that skins now also provide an OVR rating boost. What does that actually mean?
Let’s clarify one key point right away: the OVR boost does not affect your player’s actual stats. The increase is purely a visual/performance perk tied to make it clearer that the skin grants boosted attributes. For example, the Lindworm skin adds +5 to your player’s OVR rating, so if your base player is rated 84, equipping Lindworm will display an OVR of 89. However, your underlying stats will still be those of the 84-rated player, except for the additional boosts granted by the skin itself of course.
In theory, this means a player’s displayed OVR can now reach up to 96, but the maximum true rating – based on real in-game stats – remains capped at 91. Therefor nothing has changed in terms of skin boosts in general, only a visual update of the OVR rating. So we’re not displaying them wrong, and you’re not checking the wrong level either – and we’ll try to add any indicators for all series as soon as we figure out a nice format.
